Reiteration – Pitcher, 2023 Reiteration – Ornament, 2023

Reiteration – Pitcher and Reiteration – Ornament are part of a series of works that reconstitute fragments of drawings created during lockdown periods. These drawings, which emerged from the unique experience of engaging with the world through a screen, are pieced together to form silhouettes. These silhouettes resemble objects, devices, or characters which are familiar and unfamiliar. They are brought to life through stitching and crochet, using threads that echo the original pen drawings. The patchworks operate similarly to the processes like Kintsugi; the notion of the repair represents the transient nature of the lockdown period, where we were all trying to mend and repair without a clear memory of the original form and function.
